1. Pilar needs to stop having sex with everybody.
2. Pilar needs to tell Jose Arcadio that Arcadio was his son.
3. Pilar needed to tell Arcadio that she was his mother before he died.
4. Pilar needs to stop having kids that she's not going to raise herself.
5. Pilar needs to stop getting in fights.
6. Pilar needs to learn how to just say no.
7. Pilar needs to stop paying people to have sex with other people.
8. Pilar needs to tell her other children about Arcadio and Aureliano Jose.
9. Pilar needs to forgive herself for having sex with brothers.

The Solitude of Pilar Ternera Pilar Ternera really wasn't in solitude when the younger generation of Buendia children was around. When Macondo was first established she was a future teller. She was the person that everyone in town went to when they had something going on in their lives and they wanted to know the meaning of it. As the book went on it seemed like the men in the Buendia family only used her for sex and then they let her go. Since I am almost done with the book I think she handles her solitude very well. She knows that she is someone that people only come to if they want something from her. Pilar is getting really old and I think she just wants to be. "When the knot in his throat became so oppressive that it was difficult for him to breathe Aureliano Segundo visited Pilar Ternera."That proves that the only reason that anyone other then her kids went to go see her was for things that they needed.
The Solitude of Petra Cotes Petra Cotes was never really in solitude. She always spent most of her time with Aureliano Segundo. The only time that she wasn't with Aureliano was when it rained and he was at his wife's house. "Aureliano Segundo had slept at home because the rain had caught him there and at three in the afternoon he was still waiting for it to clear." Petra was basically Aureliano's wife. After Aureliano dies she tries to fulfill his wish to be buried in leather booths but Fernanda his wife won't let her. At the end of her life she is content with her solitude.
The Solitude of Melquiades Melquiades was only in Solitude for the last years of his life and when he was not in Macondo.As we first got to know him I realized that he didn't have to have friends in order to be happy. Melquiades was happy with just writing his books and talking to Jose Arcadio I. Even in death he was not alone because he would come back to the Buendia family and talk to their kids when they would lock themselves up in his room.
